Job summary

Weinrich Contracting Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking a skilled Grader Operator for earthworks construction. You will cut grade, finish clean, and keep production moving with precision and safety in mind.

The role requires 3-5+ years of grader experience, proficiency with CAT/John Deere, GPS/machine control, and the ability to work long hours in all weather conditions. 12 days on / 2 off; weather-dependent work.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years experience operating a grader in heavy civil construction.
• Strong skills in fine grading, road building, and final trim work.
• Experience with CAT, John Deere, or similar graders.
• Able to complete daily machine inspections and basic maintenance.
• Excellent grade control and ability to read plans, stakes, and elevations.
• Experience with GPS and machine control systems.
• Safety-focused with strong job site awareness.
• Willing to work long hours in all weather conditions.
• Team player with clear on-site communication.
• Able to adapt and problem-solve when conditions change.

Responsibilities

• Operate grader to cut grade and finish clean, maintaining production pace.
• Read plans, stakes and elevations to ensure accurate grading.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.

GRADER OPERATOR - Earthworks Construction

Expected start date: May 2026.

WCL is looking for an experienced Grader Operator who can cut grade, finish clean, and keep production moving. If you take pride in precision work and know your way around a blade, we want you on our crew.

What You Need

• 3-5+ years experience operating a grader in heavy civil construction.

Required Tickets

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (30-minute lunch).
• 12 days on / 2 days off (every second weekend off).
• Weather dependent work.
