Job summary

Newbridge Academy, an independent K–9 school, seeks a passionate Grade 4–5 Classroom Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging instruction across the elementary curriculum and foster a structured, joyful learning environment. Requirements include a Bachelor of Education and a valid BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility).

Prior elementary teaching experience and strong communication with families are essential. Start date is September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent required.
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience teaching in elementary grades.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction across the elementary curriculum, including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, and other subject areas as assigned
  • Support student development in academics, organization, responsibility, and social-emotional growth
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Create a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom culture
  • Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families
  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and student support
  • Participate in school activities, field trips, special events, and the broader life of the school community
  • Contribute to extracurricular or enrichment opportunities as appropriate
