Job summary

Nisga'a School District No. 92 in New Aiyansh, BC, is seeking an Elementary Teacher for Nisga'a Elementary School.

The anticipated Grade 3/4 assignment will be informed by enrollment and needs, and centered on weaving Nisga'a and Indigenous perspectives into teaching within a culture‑ and community‑driven learning environment. The successful candidate will hold a BC teaching certificate, be eligible to work in Canada, and have experience in early primary grades.

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate or eligibility.
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada.
  • Experience delivering instruction in early primary grades.
  • Knowledge of the BC Curriculum, including learning standards and core competencies.

Position Overview

The Nisga'a School District is seeking an Elementary Teacher to work with students at Nisga'a Elementary School. The anticipated assignment is Grade 3/4; however, the final assignment will be determined based on current student enrollment and school organizational needs. The role is carried out within a learning environment grounded in culture, community, and connection to the land and includes contributing to reconciliation through respectful integration of Nisga'a and Indigenous perspectives in teaching and learning, supported through collaboration, professional learning, and relationships with community.

Required Qualifications
