Job summary

Deerhurst Resort in Muskoka, Ontario is seeking a Golf & Grounds Equipment Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role. You will maintain and repair a modern fleet of golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines, reporting to the Golf Course Associate Superintendent and Grounds Manager.

The position offers a competitive annual salary range of $60,000 to $70,000, with full benefits, housing on site, and access to on-site recreation.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing golf course equipment, turf, or heavy machinery.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gasoline systems.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gasoline systems.

Position Summary

As a Golf & Grounds Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and support equipment used throughout the resort. Reporting to the Golf Course Associate Superintendent and Grounds Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support daily golf course operations. This is an opportunity to work with a modern fleet of equipment while being part of a skilled and supportive Golf Course Maintenance team in the heart of Muskoka.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on golf course and grounds equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain and service precision cutting units, including reel and bedknife grinding.
• Maintain accurate service records and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Assist with equipment preparation throughout the golf season and winter maintenance program.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Golf Course Maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability.
