Job summary

Richmond Country Club in Richmond, BC is seeking an experienced Equipment Technician to lead the Golf Course Maintenance fleet, ensuring reliable performance and safe operation.

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, you will oversee diagnostics, preventive maintenance, inventory, and budgeting while mentoring maintenance staff and coordinating with suppliers. This is a full-time on-site role with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certification preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years of equipment maintenance in a high-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and reel mower technology.
• Excellent troubleshooting, planning, and time management.
• Ability to train and support equipment operators.
• Safety-conscious and committed to continuous improvement.
• Valid BC Driver's Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the equipment maintenance program reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance for the fleet.
• Excel at mower setup and after-cut appearance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service histories, and logs.
• Manage shop safety, cleanliness, and readiness per WorkSafeBC standards.
• Oversee parts inventory, purchasing, and procurement with proper stock levels.
• Track orders, warranties, vendors, and budgets for cost control.
• Develop relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Evaluate equipment condition and advise on replacement and fleet planning.
• Train staff on operation, inspections, and preventative care.
