Job summary

u-blox AG in Calgary, Canada is offering a GNSS Engineering Intern position within the Positioning Services Business Unit. You will join a product team, work on GNSS algorithms, data-driven analysis and product development using C/C++, MATLAB, and Python.

You’ll participate in day-to-day team activities, receive feedback, and contribute to real engineering problems with support from experienced engineers. This is a remote opportunity with an active Calgary engineering community.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in Geomatics/Engineering.
• Foundational GNSS positioning knowledge from coursework/research.
• Strong engineering problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a product team developing and improving GNSS products and services.
• Understand and solve real customer and product problems using data, experimentation and engineering analysis.
• Prototype, develop and test GNSS algorithms and software.
• Analyze GNSS performance and identify opportunities to improve our products.
• Use C/C++, MATLAB or Python for product development, analysis and testing.
• Automate repetitive tasks to improve team efficiency and performance.

What You Bring

• Currently pursuing a BSc, MSc or MEng in Geomatics Engineering
• Foundational knowledge of GNSS positioning through coursework, research or hands-on projects
• Strong foundation in mathematics, physics and engineering problem solving
• Programming experience with C/C++, MATLAB, Python or similar languages
• Curiosity and a willingness to dig into complex technical problems and understand the "why" behind them
• Familiar with the AI tools and how to use them for improving efficiency
• Ability to communicate ideas, ask questions, give and receive feedback, and collaborate effectively with others

Experience through coursework, research or projects with areas such as high-precision GNSS, RTK, PPP, estimation, GNSS data analysis or positioning algorithms is an advantage.
