Job summary

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions seeks a Geomatics Engineering Intern to join our Calgary-based team for May 3, 2027 to May 3, 2028. You will work on GNSS signal tracking, GNSS/INS positioning, and post-mission processing within our NovAtel product line, gaining hands-on experience with tracking and positioning technologies.

Qualifications

• Registered in the Engineering Internship/Co-op program and have completed at least your 3rd year by the start of your work term.
• Enrolled in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Geomatics Engineering, or Computer Science at a recognized post secondary institution.
• Available for a minimum 12 month work term, 37.5 hours a week.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Valid class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work with industry-leading experts to collect data for investigation into existing and new technologies. Analyze performance and functional data using statistical and graphical analysis.
• Perform both formal testing and exploratory testing; as well as update documentation to create system knowledge and enhance product robustness. Includes usage of GNSS simulation tools to develop repeatable automated tests.
• Assist in and work on projects to analyze and automatically monitor GNSS constellation behaviour
• Investigate reported field issues, and potentially perform customer service duties
• Investigation of problems and potentially resolve system defects
• Assist in improving and expanding existing regression testing capabilities
