Start Date: July 2, 2026 (Approx.)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (7.5 hours/day)

Job Summary

The National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking an experienced Labourer and Trades Helper (GLELE) to support facility operations and maintenance activities at its Saskatoon location. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, facility inspections, inventory management, contractor support, and general operational duties while ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform lighting inspections and replace bulbs as required.
  • Maintain inventory of electrical and maintenance components (ballasts, filters, etc.).
  • Move, assemble, and install office furniture and fixtures.
  • Conduct daily machinery inspections and record operational data.
  • Change HVAC filters and monitor equipment gauges.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Complete minor plumbing repairs and building maintenance tasks.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and perform door hardware adjustments.
  • Assist with contractor supervision and site logistics coordination.
  • Lift and move materials, furniture, and equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and NRC operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid WHMIS Certification.
  • Ability to work safely at heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in:
