Job summary

YWCA Regina Inc. is seeking a capable maintenance worker to support building operations in Regina. The role requires a Grade 12/GED, First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain within 3 months, a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License, and the ability to perform physical labour including lifting over 50 lbs.

37.5 hours per week with some training opportunities. Experience with general maintenance, hand and electrical tools, and trouble-shooting building systems is valued.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / GED required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License.
  • Willingness to obtain additional training (e.g., Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Working at heights).
  • Familiarity with general maintenance and ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance duties.
  • Experience with tools including hand and electrical tools.
  • Excellent experience working and troubleshooting building equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and women experiencing violence, addictions, and/or homelessness is an asset.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Education
  • Grade 12-General Educational Development.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to complete within 3 months.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
  • Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License.
  • Willingness to obtain additional training as needed. i.e. Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Working at heights, etc.
Experience
  • Familiarity with general maintenance and ability to perform wide variety of maintenance duties.
  • Good experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
  • Excellent experience working and troubleshooting various building equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and women experiencing violence, addictions, and/or homelessness is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Fluent in Microsoft Suite and confident to work on computers and with technology.
  • General knowledge of basic building repair, drywall repair, plumbing, carpentry etc.
  • Ability to perform physical labour that involves movement for the majority of shift and able to lift items over 50lbs.
