Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) invites motivated undergraduates to join our GIS/co-op program starting May 2027 for 8 or 12 months at site. You will support Sustainable Development with GIS data acquisition, mapping and analysis, and develop web maps and field tools using Esri software.

Gain hands-on experience, mentorship from seasoned specialists, and travel/fee assistance with opportunities for future roles upon graduation. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro/Portal/Online and Field Maps is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with Esri software: ArcGIS Pro, Portal, Online, Field Maps, Survey123.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple projects.
• Motivated self-starter with technical environment exposure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Familiarity with Python, Arcade and SQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Sustainable Development through GIS data acquisition, input, mapping and analysis.
• Develop web maps and field collection tools using Esri tools.
• Produce cartographic products based on operational needs.
• Provide GIS analysis functions and automations in ArcPro.
• Maintain site-wide GIS system; assist with contractor support as needed.
• Generate innovative ideas to improve business processes.
