Job summary

Hydro Ottawa is seeking a GIS/CAD Technician to prepare and maintain GIS and CAD drawings, including new construction, station maps and standards drawings. The role supports GIS and OMS development and maintenance, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.

The position requires post-secondary education in GIS, civil engineering or cartography, CAD software experience, and a willingness to work in a hybrid model in Ottawa, Ontario with bilingual abilities considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in GIS, civil engineering, or cartography.
• Experience using CAD software.
• Experience developing or maintaining GIS/digital mapping systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce and revise electrical and civil drawings and GIS baseplans per Hydro Ottawa standards.
• Create construction drawings for residential, commercial, overhead, underground projects.
• Maintain GIS records and attributes for outage management, planning and records.
