Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is seeking a GIS professional to support geospatial data processing, transformation workflows, and data integration for telecommunications projects.

The role requires Safe FME experience, GIS software proficiency, and strong collaboration with multiple IT and planning teams. Ideal candidates will have a GIS degree, SQL knowledge, and experience with data automation, Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in GIS, Geomatics or a closely related field.
• Experience working with the Safe FME data transformation tool is a requirement.
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL language.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or Bricks CAD.
• Knowledge of Python is an asset.
• Knowledge of GIS datasets and symbology used in Telecommunications is an asset.
• Technical acumen with a desire to stay up to date on industry trends.
• Team player ready to learn and share knowledge with others.
• Excellent communication, analysis capabilities and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with GIS tools and data sources to support projects.
• Perform data manipulation through transformation workflows and programming.
• Analyze current geospatial data processes and propose changes to improve performance.
• Analyze external data sets and map products for automated ingestion into systems.
• Collaborate with GIS, Fiber, Planning and OSS teams.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Degree/diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics or a closely related field. Work experience in the field will also be considered.
• Experience working with the Safe FME data transformation tool is a requirement. Knowledge of Databases and SQL language.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or Bricks CAD.
• Knowledge of Python programming language is an asset.
• Knowledge of GIS datasets and symbology used in Telecommunications is an asset.
• Technical acumen, with a desire to stay up to date on the latest industry trends.
• Team player ready to learn and share your knowledge with other team members.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analysis capabilities, and organizational skills.

• Work with a variety of GIS applications, data transformation tools and data sources.
• Perform data manipulation through transformation workflows and programming, aiming to clean and convert data into its desired form.
• Analyze current geospatial data process, propose, and implement changes to improve performance.
• Analyze external data sets and map products and create automated processes for their periodical ingestion into the Wireline Implementation West Plant Records system.
• Work with others team members evaluating GIS tools and data sources for future utilization.
• Work with other GIS team members, Fiber team, Planning teams, and OSS team members."

Salary Range - CA$ 100,000 - CA$ 120,000 Per Year
