Reporting to the Tax Director located in the US, the successful candidate will manage all matters related to Canadian tax within our group of companies. This is an opportunity for an experienced Canadian tax professional to be a part of a rapidly expanding organization and to be a key member of a growing global tax function.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage Canadian corporate income tax compliance, including coordinating preparation of Canadian income tax returns with outside service providers, computing and verifying installment payments, etc.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision, research and document related tax accounting issues, and participate actively in the consolidated tax provision.
- Handle Canadian tax audits efficiently and timely.
- Analyze notices of assessment and account statements.
- Communicate with various tax authorities on tax-related matters and respond to requests.
- Participate in the implementation of transfer pricing processes.
- Assist with commodity tax/Canadian indirect tax questions.
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical tax position memorandums on Canadian and international tax matters.
- Participate in the tax perspective of various strategic projects.

Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate Canadian taxation
- Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of accounting software is an asset
- CPA designation is an asset
- Knowledge in indirect tax or international tax is an asset
- Knowledge in CbCR or Pillar II is an asset
- Strong communication skills and bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
