Job summary

Baycrest Hospital Ambulatory Care is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Ambulatory Services’ Adult Day Program (The Freeman Family Day Centre). The position is on a casual, on-call basis with shifts that vary.

The hourly pay rate is CAD 38.41–39.02, with SEIU Service PT represented staff. The role involves delivering client‑centred care within a multidisciplinary team, including medication administration, RAT testing, and supportive cognitive, physical and spiritual activities

Qualifications

• Current registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate, Level C - AED is required.
• Experience with clients in day programs or residents in a community setting preferred.
• Certificate in Dementia Care preferred.
• Training in Gentle Persuasive Approach and U-First preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides sound clinical knowledge and skills, acts as clinical expert and resource.
• Provides comprehensive, quality client/family centred health care services.
• Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medications, Rapid Antigen testing (RAT), as well as treatments which fall within the RPN’s scope of practice.
• Provides client-centred care within an interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation and spiritual needs of clients.

The Adult Day Program

is focused on offering older adults a wide range of social, cognitive, physical and spiritual activities. This program is designed for community dwelling seniors with physical frailty as well as mild cognitive impairments.
