Job summary

Extendicare Red River Place Home in Selkirk MB is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to assess and treat functional abilities in residents, improving self-care, leisure and productive activities. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and maintain documentation in line with provincial standards.

The role requires a Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy, current regulatory standing, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Must be in good standing with the provincial regulatory board and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Background Check required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and participates in the provision of quality occupational therapy for residents.
• Assess residents upon admission and ongoing basis; develop treatment plans.
• Communicate plans and goals to the care team; implement and monitor treatment.
• Document pertinent information and progress; ensure ethical and safe care.
• Promote safety, ethics, confidentiality and resident participation in care.
