Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a Food Service Worker to assist in daily meal preparation, portioning and serving, with responsibilities including dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment. The role supports ongoing safety and sanitation standards across the kitchen environment.

The position accommodates various shifts (days/evenings/nights) and requires ability to lift, stand for long periods, and follow English instructions.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of, or is currently enrolled in a recognized Food Service Worker Program.
• Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
• Some experience in food services industry.
• Ability to lift heavy industrial size food trays, pots and pans.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals, portion and serve dessert.
• Dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing of cooking equipment, pots and pans.
• General and special cleaning in the kitchen.
• Follow government and organization policies and standards.
• Support safe and sanitary kitchen operations.
