Job summary

Arcadis in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training to join the Engineering Services During Construction team for the Fraser River Tunnel Project. You will provide field-based geotechnical support, document site conditions, and assist with technical reviews under licensed engineers.

This early-career role offers progressive experience toward professional registration, with opportunities to contribute to a major infrastructure project while traveling to active construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or closely related field.
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for EIT registration.
• Approximately three years of relevant geotechnical or infrastructure experience.
• Practical field experience including drilling supervision, borehole/core logging, sampling, and groundwater monitoring.
• Ability to prepare concise field and technical reports and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical field engineering support during construction under licensed engineers.
• Observe construction and document field conditions, equipment, materials, and issues.
• Prepare daily field observation reports, site records, and progress summaries.
• Support geotechnical investigations including drilling supervision and logging.
• Maintain field records and monitoring data.
• Assist with review of contractor submissions and technical queries.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in site meetings and safety briefings.
• Prepare technical memoranda, calculations, and closeout records.
