Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Business Line in Edmonton. You will work on diverse engineering projects within a multidisciplinary team, leveraging over 8 years of local geotechnical experience to contribute to project growth and technical excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work on projects related to transportation, industrial developments, linear corridors, and geohazard assessments.
• Collaborate with senior staff to perform geotechnical design, analysis, and prepare reports addressing foundation design, slope stability, site development, and remediation.
• Prepare proposals and manage multiple geotechnical projects.
• Manage client and contractor relationships.
• Mentor, coach, and train less experienced professionals.
• Conduct site inspections and supervision.
• Travel as required for field programs.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong experience in client, sub-consultant, and contractor management.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, LPile, gINT, Settle 3D).
• Excellent organizational, report writing, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering; postgraduate degree is an asset.
• Minimum of 8 years of geotechnical engineering experience, primarily in Alberta or Western Canada.
• Professional Engineer in good standing with APEGA or eligible to obtain it.
