Job summary

EXP in Kamloops, BC is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in Training to join our team and contribute to local projects, with opportunities to collaborate on larger Western Canada projects. You will work with project engineers, field teams and materials staff to deliver geotechnical investigations and testing in both field and lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team player with ability to work independently or as part of project teams.
• Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills using Word, Excel and AutoCAD.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors to execute assigned projects.
• Analyze geotechnical data to prepare results for reports.
• Prepare initial drafts of geotechnical reports.
• Carry out engineering analysis under P.Eng. supervision.
• Occasionally performing materials field work.
• Create proposals and budgets for geotechnical and materials projects.
• Attend staff and project meetings when requested.
• Interaction with clients and contractors to provide excellent service.
