Job summary

TBT Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer to contribute to a wide range of projects under the guidance of Professional Engineers. The role offers design, analysis, fieldwork, and client coordination opportunities aimed at progressing toward licensure in a growth-focused environment.

Applicants should hold a Civil Engineering degree from a Canadian university; field experience and knowledge of codes/standards are assets.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university or equivalent.
  • Field experience is an asset and understanding of codes, standards and regulations is required.
  • Proficiency with engineering software relevant to civil design and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of civil designs, analyses, plans, specs, estimates and contract docs.
  • Support design development, construction review, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Prepare, verify and finalize technical reports and calculations with accuracy.
  • Conduct fieldwork including site reviews, testing and investigations to support design.
  • Contribute to proposals and engage with clients, regulators, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers to apply engineering principles and progress toward licensure.

Job description

Position Description

Contribute to a wide range of Civil Engineering projects while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams under the mentorship of experienced Professional Engineers. Apply and expand your technical knowledge in design, analysis, and project delivery as you develop toward professional licensure in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of civil designs, engineering analyses, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
  • Support technical and project management activities through design development, construction review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare, verify, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and other project deliverables with attention to accuracy and quality standards.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including research, site reviews, inspections, testing, and technical investigations to support project design and delivery.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and actively participate in engagement with clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with Professional Engineers to apply engineering principles, develop practical solutions, and advance toward professional licensure.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in Civil Engineering design and contract administration, supported by a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Field experience is considered an asset, along with a solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software.

This position is classified as full time.
