Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Markham, Ontario, is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on developing practical geotechnical designs and construction solutions while coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team.

The candidate will primarily work in the office with field visits. Requirements include a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering, a Bachelor’s in Civil/Geological Engineering, and a minimum of 8 years of geotechnical experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering with emphasis on advanced soil mechanics and numerical analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/geological engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects in transportation, infrastructure, power, mining and industrial developments.
• Supervise field staff on testing, boreholes, and lab testing.
• Design monitoring and instrumentation programs for geotechnical projects.
• Manage geotechnical investigations including coordination with subcontractors and budgets.
• Prepare proposals, technical reports, and project drawings.
