Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Technician to join our Markham, Ontario office. You will perform field testing and laboratory tasks, supporting a range of projects from transportation to industrial developments.

Qualifications

• Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Position will require field work.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects spanning transportation, power, mining, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
• Perform geotechnical field testing such as concrete testing, field compaction testing, excavation inspections, footing inspections, rebar inspections, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils/concrete/asphalt.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment Program.
• Other general field and office related duties.

Your Opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities

• Working on a variety of small to large projects spanning from transportation, power, mining, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
• Geotechnical field testing such as concrete testing, field compaction testing excavation inspections, footing inspections, rebar inspections, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils/concrete/asphalt.
• Promoting a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment Program.
• Other general field and office related duties.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Energetic team player with a commitment to superior client service.
• Experience working with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• A valid Driver's License is required.
• Completion of a two- or three-year college program in civil engineering technology would be an asset.
• Ability and willingness to work away from home.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$51,200.00 - $71,700.00 Annually
