Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our energy & resources team in Vancouver, BC or Calgary, AB. This role supports local and international mining projects with site investigations, design, and instrumentation across a multidisciplinary team.

Your responsibilities include geotechnical investigations, data interpretation, and earth-structure design, with opportunities to advance toward professional registration. Hybrid work is available, travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geotechnical, geological, civil or mining engineering.
• 0–4 years experience; co-op or intern acceptable.
• EGBC or APEGA eligibility is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in geotechnical site investigations and field testing.
• Install and interpret geotechnical instrumentation data.
• Assist design of pit slopes, waste disposal and tailings dams.
• Support mining and closure project design.
• Prepare technical drawings, figures and proposals under supervision.
• Ensure safety programs and project compliance.
