Job summary

EXP in Brampton, ON is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Student (Co-op) to gain hands-on field experience in geotechnical and environmental work on construction projects. You will assist with soil testing, sampling, and on-site measurements while learning from dedicated mentors.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or related programs, with strong problem-solving, communication, and drawing-reading skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or related program
• Interest in construction, geotechnical testing, or environmental fieldwork
• Ability to problem-solve and think proactively on site
• Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings/specifications (training provided)
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with contractors and team members
• Solid report writing and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites
• Physically able to lift/carry equipment such as soil density gauges and concrete cylinders

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil compaction testing using a soil density gauge
• Perform concrete field tests (slump, air content) and cast concrete test cylinders
• Observe asphalt placement and conduct sampling and compaction testing
