Job summary

Hatch Ltd. is seeking a Geotechnical or Structural co-op student for our Hydropower & Dams Group in Saskatoon, starting January 2027.

You will support local and national projects from our Saskatoon Office, collaborating with diverse teams and contributing to complex analyses and fieldwork. You will develop skills in slope stability, seepage analyses, and report writing, while gaining practical experience on project sites and in the office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Geotechnical or Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Providing engineering support for Hydropower & Dams projects in pre-feasibility through to detailed engineering, dam safety and operational support.
• Assist in developing and completing analyses (slope stability, seepage) and quantity estimates.
• Supporting various field assignments including geotechnical investigations, data processing, and report writing.
• For structural: Assist in completing structural analysis and design calculations for concrete and structural steel.
• Supporting the production of reports, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Supporting senior staff in business development and marketing to existing and new Hatch clients in the hydropower sector, preparation of expressions of interest and proposals.

Position Summary:

Compensation:

Range: $26.00 - $33.00
