Job summary
Halton Regional Police Service in Burlington is seeking a Crime Analyst for a temporary full-time assignment of 16-18 months. You will collect, analyze and disseminate crime data to support operations, investigations and administration, collaborating with patrol, CIB and external agencies.
The role requires a university degree in a relevant field, 3+ years in crime/statistical analysis, and familiarity with i2 Analysts Notebook.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in geography, statistics, mathematics or criminology.
- Certification as a Crime Analyst (IACA/IALEIA) is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive crime/statistical analysis experience.
- Knowledge of i2 Analysts Notebook is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily crime activity via occurrence reports and inter-agency liaison.
- Evaluate data reliability; extract and analyze information for systems.
- Apply statistical and spatial methods to identify trends and patterns.
- Prepare weekly reports, charts, maps and matrices.
- Develop and maintain a District Crime Analysis portal.
- Brief District Commanders and investigators on current activity.
- Collaborate with internal staff and other districts.
