Job summary

The City of Red Deer is seeking a Police Criminal Intelligence Analyst to provide tactical and strategic crime analysis, prepare information briefs, and support policing services with statistics and projections. The role emphasizes collaboration with RCMP, development of crime-reduction programs, and mentoring junior analysts.

Preferred candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in criminology or related fields and have extensive policing analytics experience, with the ability to obtain RCMP security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, police science, statistics or related field.
• Minimum five years’ policing or government crime analysis experience.
• Two years of crime analysis experience in a policing environment or related analytics.
• Ability to obtain RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support in collaboration with RCMP and in-house teams.
• Analyze statistics, identify networks, and make actionable recommendations.
• Prepare briefs, reports, and presentations with supporting evidence.
• Develop and support Crime Reduction Programs (e.g., HotSpot analysis).
• Present findings at seminars, conferences, and training courses.
• Mentor less experienced Analysts and ensure safety compliance.
