McElhanney is seeking Geomatics (Survey) New Graduates to join our Northern BC team. You will gain hands-on field and office experience on real projects, with extensive outdoor activity and travel to sites.

Ideal candidates will be pursuing or hold a Geomatics degree, enjoy fieldwork, and be prepared for extended periods away from home. You’ll work with advanced geomatics technologies and experienced professionals, supported by a safety‑first culture and clear paths for growth and leadership

• Diploma or Degree in Geomatics completed or near completion.
• Interest in field-based, hands-on work.
• Physical ability to work on active sites, varied terrain and lift equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in sometimes remote environments.
• Attention to detail, sound judgement, and clear communication skills.
• Previous outdoor, field, construction, or labour experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support field surveys using GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, and RPAS.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare files, plans, maps, field notes and survey data for project delivery.
• Research plans, titles, records, and other geospatial information.
• Maintain, monitor, and report on the condition of survey equipment and vehicles.
• Work across both field and office environments, including urban sites, remote locations, and wilderness settings.
• Gain hands-on experience with advanced geomatics technologies, including 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, reality capture tools, and other emerging solutions.
• Participate in safety practices to Think Safe, Work Safe, and Get Home Safe.
• Expect early starts, active days, and plenty of time outdoors.

This opportunity is intended for candidates who are available to start in May/summer 2027, or after graduation. As a Geomatics (Survey) New Graduate at McElhanney, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across field and office environments, working on real projects alongside experienced professionals in Northern BC.

• Collaborate with Project Managers to prepare files, plans, maps, field notes and survey data for project delivery.
• Research plans, titles, records, and other geospatial information.
• Maintain, monitor, and report on the condition of survey equipment and vehicles.
• Work across both field and office environments, including urban sites, remote locations, and wilderness settings.
• Gain hands‑on experience with advanced geomatics technologies, including 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, reality capture tools, and other emerging advanced geomatics solutions that are transforming the industry.
• Participate in McElhanney’s industry‑leading safety practices, ensuring teams Think Safe, Work Safe, and Get Home Safe.
• Expect early starts, active days, and plenty of time outdoors.

What Can We Offer You?

The wage range for this position is $56,000 – $77,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
