Qualifications

  • Graduate with a DEC or BAC in geomatics or equivalent.
  • More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in geomatics related to cartography.

Job description

Groupe Conseil UDA is looking for a Geomatics Professional – Cartography Profile to complete its multidisciplinary team composed of agricultural and forestry engineers, agronomists, biologists, geographers, geomatics specialists and specialized technicians.

The position can be attached to our Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu office, our Quebec office or offered in telework up to almost 100% of the time.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Geomatics Professional will have to actively participate in the collection, processing, analysis, management and cartographic representation of spatial data associated with different components of the environment as part of environmental impact studies or permit and authorization applications. More specifically, he will be called upon to assume the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare various thematic cartographic products at variable scale (maps, atlases, posters, visual simulations, topographic sections);
  • Carry out data geoprocessing (spatial analysis, compilation, query, conversion);
  • Develop and maintain field data collection applications
  • Create maps and web applications using ArcGIS Online
  • Act as an advisor for the development of geomatics within the organization and our external clients;
  • Participate in respecting project budgets and deadlines;
  • Work in collaboration with all departments of the company to carry out projects.

Requirements and training

  • Graduate with a DEC or BAC in geomatics or equivalent;
  • More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in geomatics related to cartography;
  • Mastery of the ESRI environment;
  • Ability to create queries (SQL);
  • Knowledge of online mapping and field applications (e.g. ARCGIS Online);
  • Knowledge of Hydro-Québec’s technical specifications (asset);
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python) (asset);
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCad (asset);
  • Knowledge of the Office suite and Illustrator and Photoshop software;
  • Autonomy, initiative and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
