Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) invites motivated undergraduates to join our team in the Elk Valley. The 8- or 12-month co-op role starts January 2027 and offers hands-on experience in geology, geophysics, and mine exploration within BC’s rugged landscapes.

You will work with Geology, Engineering, and Mine Operations to map coal seams, learn modelling software, and support field programs while developing professional skills and industry connections.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in geology or related field.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
• Able to operate vehicles in varying weather and terrain.
• Strong multitasking and project management abilities.
• Willingness to work outdoors in a dynamic environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in health and safety programs and policies.
• Assist with identifying and staking coal seams, and collecting coal samples.
• Complete geophysical logging and surveys of production drill holes.
• Assist with geological modelling and interpretation using Geology software.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Geology, and Mine Operations teams.
• Operate UAVs/drones to survey coal seam headings.
• Support field exploration with planning and project management activities.
• Generate innovative ideas to improve business processes.
