Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is offering a co-op position in the Technical Marketing team based in British Columbia. You will contribute to ensuring coal and coke quality on spec for EVR customers and collaborate with mine planning, operations, processing, logistics and marketing to understand current and future coal quality.

The role emphasizes data analysis (Power BI), lab audits, and presenting quality performance to site teams.

Qualifications

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Geology, Chemical or Process Engineering.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent without learner's restrictions.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment across multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Good troubleshooting, critical thinking and decision‑making abilities.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
Data interrogation of weekly quality performance using platforms such as Power BI.
Coal aging study.
Large diameter bulk sampling drilling planning and execution.
Present at weekly meetings with mine site teams on quality performance.
Compile and deliver monthly quality performance of operations to technical marketing team.
Participate in lab audits.
Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to improve the way we do business.
