Job summary

Walmart Canada in Hawkesbury is hiring for a General Merchandise Associate. You will greet customers, promote products, help locate merchandise and assist in purchase decisions while addressing concerns.

You will coordinate task priorities with the General Merchandise Coach and Store Management, lead daily huddles, ensure schedule accuracy, support recruiting, and foster a safe, clean store environment. This role starts at CAD 20.85 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the General Merchandise Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of General Merchandise Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executing merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensures strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assign Associates to support with coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management.
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.
