Job description

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations & Strategic Initiatives, the General Manager of Calgary will be responsible for the development, execution, and success of strategic initiatives at Skip.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with a core ‘city squad’ of SMEs across all departments. As the squad leader, the GM will set objectives, guide from ideation to execution, and leverage the squad to drive rapid, impactful tests from incubation to scaling to achieve results.

The ideal candidate is curious, entrepreneurial, data-driven, and capable of critical thinking to make swift, informed decisions in a cross-functional environment. They view failure as a learning opportunity, test hypotheses quickly, and possess a growth mindset with a strong desire to succeed.

What’s On Your Plate :
  • Local Strategy Development: Develop and own the strategic vision for Calgary.
  • Operational Execution: Implement strategies with solutions that are specific, scalable, and continuously improved.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and analyze KPIs and SLAs, measure initiative success, and identify areas for improvement.
  • City Partner Supply: Ensure optimal supply, monitor competitors, manage local pipelines, and mitigate high-risk churn.
  • Local Engagement: Tailor marketing efforts to the city’s residents’ needs and preferences.
  • Experimentation: Conduct tests, scale insights, and navigate multiple pathways in a competitive market.
Recipe For Success :
  • 8-10+ years of experience, including P&L ownership and team leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic programs from ideation to completion.
  • Strategic, critical thinker with a broad perspective on organizational and market issues.
