Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a General Manager for Aspira Harvest Crossing Retirement Living in Tillsonburg, Ontario. This permanent full-time role leads a multi-disciplinary team to ensure exceptional resident care, engagement and operational success.

You will drive occupancy, manage budgets, and uphold a culture of compassion, accountability, community and care, reporting to the Regional Operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in retirement living, hospitality, or similar.
• Proven track record in team management, budget management and operational excellence.
• Experience in sales and marketing to drive occupancy and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Build a high performing, strong and effective management team.
• Lead an interdisciplinary team of Managers, Sales Consultants and Front Line employees.
• Plan, coordinate, direct and monitor the overall operational activities of the Residence.
• Develop short and long term operational plans for efficient operation and delegation of authority.
• Support and direct the team to achieve occupancy, Net Operating Income and Operating Margin.
• Respond to resident/family concerns and implement preventative action plans.
• Ensure site compliance with provincial regulations.
• Collaborate to create an optimal working environment and engaged staff.
• Partner with Wellness and Sales to drive occupancy strategies.
• Foster community partnerships with health providers and civic leaders.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build a high performing, strong and effective management team
• Lead an interdisciplinary team of Managers, Sales Consultants and Front Line employees
• Plan, coordinate, direct and monitor the effectiveness of the overall operational activities of the Residence
• Develop short and long term operational plans for the efficient operation, including proper delegation and communication of lines of authority
• Provide support and direction to the team to achieve targeted occupancy, Net Operating Income and Operating Margin
• Respond promptly to resident and family member concerns, including mediating a satisfactory response and implementing an action plan to avoid reoccurrence of similar issues
• Ensure site level compliance with all applicable provincial regulations
• Collaborate with internal resources to ensure the optimum working environment so that team members, who value their work, are engaged and provide the best resident experience
• Partner with Director of Wellness and Sales Advisor to create and execute strong outreach strategy to increase/maintain occupancy
• Foster positive community partnerships with health and service providers, business leaders, civic officials and other community agencies to promote the home as an integral part of the community

What You Need To Know

• You have a bachelor degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field, equipping you with a solid foundation in management principles and practices relevant to our organization
• With 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in retirement living, hospitality or a similar sector, you have honed your management skills and are adept at leading teams in compassion and efficiency
• You have a proven track record of effective team management, budget management and operational excellence. Your experience demonstrates your ability to manage resources wisely and lead operations successfully
• You possess experience in sales and marketing, crucial for driving occupancy and engaging the community. Your skills in this area will help promote our services and enhance our reputation and reach
• Your excellent verbal and written communication skills stand out. You are capable of building and maintain strong relationships with seniors, their families, team members and external stakeholders
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
