GENERAL MANAGER
Location: West End
The General Manager will be instrumental in evaluating our current operations and crafting a robust national go-to-market strategy aimed at delivering aggressive growth within the short to medium term. You will focus on working with utilities, municipalities, and large organizations as an expert in Infrastructure Engineering.
Relevant Engineering Experience:
- Electrical Engineering
- Water/Waste Water Engineering
- Nuclear Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional operational results, utilizing a comprehensive approach with consulting, client service standards, and full lifecycle service delivery in the utility and infrastructure sectors.
- Identify and seize business development opportunities with current and prospective clients to fuel profitable expansion.
- Maintain sound financial stewardship through meticulous planning, controls, and performance measurement.
- Cultivate a stronger organization by nurturing technical talent, championing a performance-driven culture, and optimizing project delivery mechanisms.
The General Manager oversees all aspects of the division’s national operations, aiming to increase revenue and support growth aligned with the company’s goals.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement revenue strategies and operational plans to achieve short-term growth and profit objectives.
- Drive employee engagement, development, and performance, fostering a high-productivity culture with clear expectations and values.
- Formulate strategic plans to grow product lines and expand geographic presence, including resource allocation and progress review.
- Coordinate procurement, production, marketing, and technical services policies with corporate staff.
- Enhance company image through collaboration with customers, government, and community organizations, enforcing ethical practices.
- Maintain quality service standards and stay updated with professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
- Represent the company at industry functions and build professional networks to foster new business opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (required).
- MBA or advanced leadership training (asset).
- 8-10 years managing P&Ls with sales and servicing industrial clients nationally.
- Strong revenue-driven behaviors and a character admired in all aspects of life.
- Analytical thinking, coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members.
