A leading company in Clarington is seeking a General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, including manufacturing, production control, and office administration. The role involves managing a team, setting company goals, and ensuring smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and strong leadership skills.
Perform functions to manage the day-to-day operations of the TC Canada facilities, including manufacturing, production control, and office administration.
Under administrative direction:
Responsible for managing all employees in TCIC/TCIC(W) through subordinate supervisors and managers. Hires, trains, assists employees, enforces company policies, establishes performance standards, and evaluates employee performance.
Perform other related duties as assigned. Reports to:

GENERAL MANAGER
KNOWLEDGE:
Broad knowledge of a discipline such as business, equivalent to a complete college or university education.
EXPERIENCE:
Over 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Manage highly involved and technical projects, overseeing the day-to-day operations of manufacturing, production control, and office administration. Requires broad conceptual judgment to direct manufacturing activities and make decisions with little precedent.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Under administrative direction, establish own standards of performance within overall policy and budgetary limits, with direct accountability for final results, including sales goals.
ERRORS:
Probable errors may involve major expenditures, resulting in the loss of important customer accounts or poor representation at sales meetings.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Dealing with and influencing persons in various positions, including TC Canada personnel, customers, and executive management, requiring high diplomacy to maintain customer relationships.
CONFIDENTIAL DATA:
Work involves handling confidential data such as financial statements and proprietary business information, where disclosure could be detrimental to the organization.
MENTAL AND/OR VISUAL DEMAND:
Continuous mental and visual attention is required to manage company operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Good working conditions with occasional exposure to elements such as odour, chemicals, dust, and noise.
CHARACTER OF SUPERVISION:
Directs and coordinates the operation of departments through subordinate supervisors, setting performance standards, monitoring progress, and ensuring policy adherence.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:
Supervises between 50 and 100 persons.
