Rodd Miramichi River Resort in New Brunswick seeks an experienced General Manager on maternity leave coverage to lead a full-service operation with a focus on guest experience and revenue growth.

You will guide hotel teams, manage F&B, and partner with sales, marketing and community stakeholders while ensuring exceptional service and profitability. This role offers transition to a senior management position based on performance and organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in Hotel, Hospitality Management and/or F&B.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable and results-driven.
• Proven track record in guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and operations excellence in luxury hotels.
• Strong leadership to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

Job description

This is a 1-year maternity leave coverage contract with the opportunity to transition into another senior management position within Rodd Hotels & Resorts upon successfully completion of the contract, subject to organizational needs.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hands‑on General Manager (Maternity Leave Coverage) to lead the team at Rodd Miramichi River Resort. Nestled along the scenic Miramichi River, this full‑service resort is well-known for its warm Maritime hospitality, beautiful waterfront setting, and strong ties to the local community.

The successful candidate will be a confident and inspiring leader who leads by example and is committed to operational excellence, team development, and exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal individual will bring a strong background in hotel operations, a passion for sales and marketing, a solid understanding of Food & Beverage operations, and the ability to foster lasting relationships with guests, local businesses, tourism partners, and the Miramichi community.

KEY DUTIES:

• Be highly visible, approachable, and engaged with guests and staff
• Lead by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm
• Effectively lead and mentor hotel teams to achieve and exceed guest service expectations
• Clearly communicate all goals, performance results, and expectations to employees
• Foster a culture of teamwork, engagement, and recognition through ongoing reward initiatives
• Achieve budgeted revenue and GOP goals balancing cost control with guest satisfaction
• Develop and manage annual budget and capital expenditure plans
• The focus will also be on maintaining and elevating the level of operations at our on-site restaurant, 1809
• Lead revenue management strategies in conjunction with corporate team, maximizing revenue through yield management and inventory control systems
• Foster positive relationships with guests, associates, vendors, and local community stakeholders to enhance the hotel's reputation and drive business growth
• Represent the hotel in the local community and with industry organizations

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Bachelor in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Hotel, Hospitality Management and/or F&B.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable and results-driven
• Proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational excellence in a luxury hotel environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals
• Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations: Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Maintenance, Rooms Division, Maintenance, and Human Resources
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric approach to service delivery
• Must be willing to relocate to Miramichi, NB
• Must have a valid driver licence and ability to commute
