Job summary

CLM Search client seeks an experienced General Manager to oversee two Ontario-based manufacturing facilities. You will drive operations, P&L, and strategic initiatives across production, quality, maintenance, engineering and supply chain.

You will lead cross-functional teams, optimize processes, and ensure profitability while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. A hands-on, results-driven leader with Lean expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Extensive leadership experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally Tier 1.
• Proven track record leading multi-facility operations.
• Strong financial skills including budgeting, forecasting and capex.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations at two manufacturing facilities (production, quality, maintenance, engineering, supply chain).
• Own P&L, budgets, forecasting, cost control and capital expenditure.
• Drive continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency across sites.
• Manage processes such as laser cutting, pressing, stamping, welding, finishing and E-coating.
• Develop strategies to improve performance, productivity and profitability.
• Integrate and develop the newly acquired coatings facility.
• Lead and develop cross-functional management teams and promote accountability.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and safety.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align operations with business goals.

• Our client, a leading global Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee two manufacturing facilities in Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of operations across two manufacturing facilities, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Take full P&L responsibility, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, profitability and capital expenditure.
• Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency across both facilities.
• Manage manufacturing processes including laser cutting, pressing, stamping, welding, finishing and E-coating.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance, productivity and overall business profitability.
• Oversee the integration and continued development of a recently acquired coatings facility.
• Lead, mentor and develop cross-functional management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization and operational efficiencies while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Work closely with senior leadership to align operational objectives with wider business strategies and commercial goals.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers to support operational and commercial performance.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• Significant leadership experience within automotive manufacturing, ideally with a Tier 1 supplier.
• Proven track record of leading manufacturing operations, ideally across multiple facilities.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing P&L, budgets, forecasting, and capital expenditure.
• Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance, profitability, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence methodologies.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams, developing leadership talent and driving positive cultural change.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
