Job summary

Aramark Chapleau lodge is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform maintenance and repair of remote camp facilities, buildings and grounds. The role focuses on safety, reliability and hands-on fix-it tasks across furnace, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work.

You will work on a 14/14 rotation with 10–12 hour shifts on site, meals and accommodations provided, and opportunities to contribute to a new lodge opening. Remote camp experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing may be required.
• Criminal background check.
• Remote camp experience is mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to travel and work long rotations away from home.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety-focused culture and attend safety meetings.
• Participate in emergency procedures as required.
• Perform furnace, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, kitchen equipment and sewage system maintenance.
• Meet daily with supervisor to discuss duties and instructions.
• Daily lodge maintenance activities; may include other duties.

About the Role

The General Maintenace Worker is responsibilities for performing a variety of work including the maintenance and repair of remote camp repairs, buildings and grounds in assigned area(s). Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Accountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on having Safety as a value
• Shall attend all safety meetings and participate in Client and/or Aramark Emergency Response
  Procedures
• General maintenance of furnace repair and maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, kitchen equipment repair and maintenance as well as sewage systems
• Meet daily with the supervisor to discuss daily duties and instructions
• Daily Maintenance through out the lodge
• Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and clean Drivers Abstract to be provided
• Valid WHMIS Certification is mandatory, First Aid Certification is an asset
• Remote Camp experience is Mandatory
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Strong with prioritization and time management
• Ability and willingness to travel/work long rotations away from home
