Job summary

Aramark is hiring a General Kitchen Helper in Chapleau to maintain cleanliness and assist the culinary team with a variety of tasks. The role involves cleaning dishes, stock management, and helping with food prep in a dynamic lodge environment.

Candidates must be flexible with shifts, pass pre-employment drug and background checks, and thrive in a safety‑driven kitchen. On-site meals and accommodations are provided as part of the benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and dining service areas.
• Clean and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and keep floors dry in kitchen areas.
• Assist in food preparation and in loading/unloading supplies.
• Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and stations as needed.
• Rotate and dispose of food per HACCP guidelines.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in emergency procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required by the role.

About the Role

The General Kitchen Helper is responsible for the maintaining and cleanliness of dishes, serve ware, equipment, kitchen, stocking etc. In addition, the individual may perform other serviceable duties as assigned. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. Maintain cleanliness through out Aramark Remote Workplace Services kitchen facilities while assisting the culinary teamwith a variety of tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Accountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on having Safety as a value
• Clean and maintain all kitchen areas as per cleaning schedule
• Sweep and mop all floors in kitchen areas
• Clean and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and equipment thoroughly
• Assist in the preparation of food items
• Assist in the unloading and storage of all supplies and groceries
• Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and various stations as needed
• Replenish, rotate, and dispose of food as per HACCP
• Keep floors dry at all times to avoid accidents
• Shall attend all safety meetings and participate in Client and/or Aramark Emergency Response Procedures
• Additional duties may be assigned

Qualifications

• Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
