Job summary

NOV is seeking an Inspection Trainee to assist Operators in the inspection and repair of used tubular goods, including drill pipe. You will handle pipes, perform cleaning and inspection tasks, and support equipment operation in a hands-on shop environment.

The role requires basic English literacy, a Class 5 driver's license, good communication, and a commitment to safety; training will be provided, with potential for growth within NOV.

Qualifications

• Partial high school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
• Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
• Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting Operators in the utilization of Wellhead Isolog, Wellchek, and Classifax Sonoscope Isolog units.
• Thread inspection
• Magnetic Particle Inspection
• Cleaning and repair of pipe threads
• Drifting and sorting of tubulars
• Removal and application of thread compounds
• Coupling removal and replacement
• Equipment set up and tear down
• Unit calibration
• Basic unit maintenance
• General housekeeping and shop cleanup
• Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements
• Participate in training programs as required by the company
• All other duties as assigned
