Responsibilities include bead blasting, grinding, handling heavy materials with cranes/forklifts where qualified, and ensuring a clean, safe workspace while supporting inventory

Qualifications

• Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working with stainless steel, steel and aluminum.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling and repetitive tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• Experience in manufacturing environment with noise, dust and temperature variation.

Responsibilities

• Perform bead blasting, grinding, sanding, and deburring of metal components and surfaces.
• Assist fabricators and welders with handling and positioning materials and assemblies.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and finished products with cranes or forklifts where qualified.
• Conduct receiving inspections to verify specifications and quality.
• Perform dye penetrant and hydrostatic testing per procedures.
• Package and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Operate hand and power tools for basic fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Organize and move raw materials, WIP, and finished products around the facility.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and safety practices; assist inventory control as needed.
• Follow all PPE requirements and company safety policies.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious General Labourer to join our team. This position supports shop operations by assisting skilled trades personnel with handling materials, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and contributing to a safe and efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bead blasting, grinding, sanding, and deburring of metal components and surfaces.
• Assist fabricators and welders with handling, movement, and positioning of stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum materials and assemblies.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and finished products using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment, where qualified and authorized.
• Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials and components to verify compliance with specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements.
• Perform dye penetrant and hydrostatic testing in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform picking and passivation of components in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
• Package, crate, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Operate hand and power tools to perform basic fabrication and assembly tasks, including drilling, cutting, and measuring.
• Organize, stage, and move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Sweep floors and assist with general shop housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support inventory control activities, including material identification and storage, as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

Required:

• Familiarity in the use of basic hand tools, grinders, and measuring devices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working with stainless steel, steel, and aluminum materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Assets:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
• Certification and experience operating overhead cranes and / or forklifts.
• Experience performing receiving inspections, quality inspections, or product testing.
