Aufgaben

• Perform site preparation, excavation, grading, utility, concrete, asphalt, and cleanup activities.
• Perform general labour duties, including shovelling, digging, raking, sweeping, lifting, loading, and material handling.
• Set up, maintain, and remove construction materials, forms, barriers, temporary structures, and signage.
• Assist equipment operators and other crew members with daily construction activities.
• Assist with road construction and reconstruction, granular placement, drainage, culverts, catch basins, and piping as project per requirements.
• Spot and guide equipment and vehicles around active work areas.
• Assist with asphalt paving, including raking, shovelling, levelling, and operations.
• Assist with concrete placement.
• Handle aggregate and construction materials.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work zones.
• Direct and control traffic safely in accordance with Company procedures and site-specific traffic control plans.
• Maintain a safe position and remain visible while directing traffic.
• Set up, inspect, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades.
• Assist with the safe movement of heavy equipment and vehicles around active work areas.
• Immediately report hazards, near misses, unsafe conditions, incidents, and dangerous motorists to the Site Supervisor.
• Follow all Company, project, and site-specific health and safety requirements.
• Wear and properly maintain all required CSA-approved personal protective equipment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, shoveling, digging, bending, kneeling, and standing or walking for extended periods.
  
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. (23 kg).
  
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, construction traffic, dust, noise, and other construction-site hazards.
  
• May be required to work at various job sites
  
• May be required to work out of town of Hearst or Cochrane area, with room and board provided when applicable.
