Job summary

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Utility Equipment Operator (Class 1 or 3) to join our roads and grounds team at CNUL Albian. You will operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, low beds and graders with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This full‑time role offers a 7 on/7 off schedule (12 hours/day), accommodations provided and benefits after probation. Candidates should have 2–5 years of heavy equipment experience, a valid Class 1 or 3 license, a clean driver abstract and

Qualifications

• 2–5 years heavy equipment experience.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License is required.
• Clean 5-year driver abstract within 30 days of starting work.
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation) and WHMIS 2015.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates and near water.
• Able to pass Drug & Alcohol and Fit for Duty tests.
• English language fluency required.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed, graders) safely and efficiently.
• Perform finish grading with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and conduct regular inspections.
• Follow safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with general labor as needed.
• Report equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Participate in safety programs and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Role Summary:

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Utility Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our roads and grounds division, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to; excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed, and graders. Your primary objective will be to execute tasks with precision, efficiency, and above all, safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate all assigned heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed, and graders in a safe and effective manner to support roads and grounds projects.
• Perform finish grading operations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and security of all assigned equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks as required.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals, demonstrating adaptability to perform laborer duties as needed.
• Proactively communicate any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives, including Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and safety meetings.
• Embrace a culture of continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance equipment operation techniques and efficiency.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, General Foreman and Site Manager

Education & Experience:

• 2-5 years Heavy Equipment experience
• Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License is required
• Clean 5-year Driver Personal & Commercial Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
• WHMIS 2015
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Safety conscious attitude
• Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
• Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
• Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test
