Job summary

Trench Canada is seeking a General Labour candidate for Scarborough, ON. The role is full-time and unionized, junior level (1-3 years) in a manufacturing environment.

You will adhere to safety protocols, operate equipment, and assist in maintaining quality throughout the production process. Training and supportive supervision are provided in a fast-paced setting with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

  • Must maintain high safety and quality standards during production.
  • Strong English communication and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work 3-shift rotation (mornings, afternoons, nights).
  • Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cranes to rig, lift, transport, and load coils.
  • Perform crimping lead terminations, heat shrink installations, taps prep/ installations.
  • Read drawings, blueprints and other manufacturing documents.
  • Replenish material as needed for continuous production.
  • Monitor orders and adjust machine/workflow for efficiency.
  • Use measuring tools and power tools to support assembly.

Overview
Your Tasks:
Safety
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures tomaintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to thesupervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area inaccordance with 5S principles.
  • Participate in regular housekeeping activities toensure a tidy and efficient workspace.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials bytransporting them to designated waste disposal sites.
Quality
  • Ensure consistent and reliable production processesby following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality controlguidelines and drawings.
  • Report any quality issues or defects to thesupervisor immediately.
  • Record (foresight, SAP, traveler...etc) productionactivities (std. and actual hrs., production#, unit# etc.) accurately asper company’s requirements.
Maintenance
  • Perform routine and preventive upkeeps (includingcleaning) and inspections of dept. equipment to ensure properfunctionality.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairsto the Team Lead or supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure proper tools management (storage, maintenance,etc.). Maintain an accurate inventory of tools.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Operate cranes to rig, lift, transport, and loadcoils on and to W/R tables. Support critical lifts within the department(gantry moves).
  • Perform crimping lead terminations, heat shrinkinstallations, taps preparation/installations and testing.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces (coils, conductor, taps,etc.) to be welded.
  • Build /repair end-rings, filling gaps and end-rings(Permabond, other chemicals etc.)
  • Check and remove foreign objects (bolts, residuewire) from coil ducts.
  • Ability to learn pre and post crimping operations.
  • Perform duties related to building resistors, casingand internal component assembly and potting.
  • Use measuring equipment, hand tools, air tools andpower tools.
  • Check and read drawings, blueprints and othermanufacturing documents.
  • Replenish material as needed for continuousproduction. Report material shortage to Supervisor immediately.
  • Monitor assigned production orders and makemachine/workflow adjustments to maintain efficiency.
  • Operate various Powered Industrial Trucks, andcranes. Operate various scissor lifts and work at heights.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor ordesignate.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • An outstanding safety and quality conscious approachwhile performing work duties.
  • Excellent proficiency in English includingdemonstrated ability to follow verbal/written instructions and completetechnical paperwork when needed.
  • Flexibility to work 3 shift rotation is a requirementof the position (mornings, afternoons and overnights).
  • Excellent attendance.
  • An outstanding safety and quality conscious approachwhile performing work duties.
