Job Description: General Labour at Cascades

• Salary range for General Labour: $20.50/hr + $1 shift premium
• Schedule: Midnight shift, 10 pm - 6 am

Develop your talents by applying your expertise within our facility in Scarborough, as the General Labour:

• Return previous dies and ink to die racks, mark and re-route dies needing repair
• Bring the required ink to the work station
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment around the press
• Ensure there are enough bottom sheets with the correct size to complete the order
• If pallets are required, ensure there are enough pallets for the run
• Assist with organizing, cleaning, and preparing the infeed conveyor while the Second Operator is setting up the order
• Maintain the machine clean - clean shafts, blow off dust, wash cylinders, and clean up scrap around the machine
• Review and fill out the Daily Cleaning Instruction Checklist

Operation Process

• Ensure piling instructions are as per specifications
• Build stable and well-formed loads
• If an issue with slotting, scoring, or printing occurs, call the Operator to inspect
• Print load tags and verify the Customer Name and their requirements for the load tag’s placement
• Move the order to Finished Goods. If part of a Set, follow instructions to move the Set into Finished Goods properly
• Ensure load tags are visible for the shipping department

End of Shift Inspection

• Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and Practices
• Follow all safety rules as specified by company policy and government regulation
• Keep the end-feed and in-feed sections and surrounding areas clean, safe, and organized
• Use all required PPE: Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs
• Understand and practice all Job Specific WHMIS/MSDS, Machine Lockout procedures, Job Hazards, and Risk Assessments
