Job summary

John Ross & Sons Ltd. is seeking reliable general laborers for full-time roles at our Goodwood, Nova Scotia location. You will load and move materials, assist production staff, and help prepare products for shipping while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and wear full PPE during shifts. Reliable transportation is required and scheduling may include overtime.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment.
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage.
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report hazards.
• Follow safety procedures and report any deficiencies to management.
• Perform other labor duties as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Upkeeping safety procedures
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management
• Other labor duties as necessary

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience of heavy lifting general labour an asset
• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently
• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift
• Safety driven mindset
• Clear communication skills
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions

Multiple Options for Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturdays as needed
• Sunday to Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with potential for overtime
• Wednesday to Saturday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with potential for overtime

Location: Goodwood, Nova Scotia (reliable transportation required; not accessible by public transit)
