Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a General Helper in Calgary to support daily operations, including cleaning, food prep, serving meals, and dishwashing. You will assist with setting up/breaking down dining areas and delivering trays to residents in a healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes safety, independence, and teamwork with a focus on English communication. Training and competitive compensation are provided in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent is required.
  • Previous housekeeping and food services experience is an asset.
  • Healthcare environment experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

How You Will Make An Impact

You will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

As a General Helper, You Will
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ rooms and common areas.
  • Assist with food preparation, set up and cleanup of chairs & tables, serving meals, delivering trays to residents, dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Perform duties according to health & safety guidelines, report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately and other reasonable requests from management
About You
  • You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping and food services experience is an asset
  • Previous experience in the healthcare environment or long-term care setting is preferred
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

The hourly wage for this role is $16.50. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.
