Job summary

PointClickCare is hiring a General Accountant for our Mississauga office on a full-time, hybrid basis. You will support month-end close, reconcile GL accounts, and provide analytical insights to management while working with AP and FP&A teams.

You will be part of a growing finance function, contributing to process improvements, controls, and timely financial reporting in a dynamic health-tech environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of accounting experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA path is preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset; familiarity with Copilot and Claude Cowork is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and manage balance sheet accounts with month-end close.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual GL close activities with accuracy.
• Analyze income statement trends and variances; document explanations.
• Coordinate with AP and FP&A to resolve GL coding issues.
• Produce analytics for management reviews and ad hoc requests.
• Maintain controls and documentation for day-to-day and month-end processes.

Travel to Office expectations

For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.

About the Team:

We are hiring for a full-time role on our three-person Accounting team. This hybrid position requires the ability to work from our Mississauga office. Our dedicated, supportive team works in a dynamic and evolving finance environment that offers many opportunities to learn and grow.

About the Role:

We are looking for a self-driven, organized, and adaptive team member that is excited to work in a dynamic and evolving finance function. The General Accountant reports directly to Accounting Manager and will be a key member of the accounting team supporting multiple subsidiary accounting. The role includes but is not limited to preparation and management of the month end close, reconciliation and investigation of account balances, budget to actual variance analysis, supporting the external audit, and liaising with various parties within the organization. The role will also be required to produce analytics to support management review and various other ad hoc requests.

• Reconcile and manage balance sheet accounts by completing general ledger reconciliations (fixed assets, prepaid assets, accrued payables, bank/cash), understanding underlying balances, investigating, and resolving discrepancies within month
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual GL close activities with diligence and accuracy, while adhering to timelines
• Review income statement and balance sheet trending against historical data and budgets, resolve any identified issues, and document explanations
• Maintain control over GL inputs by ensuring that any system reports are complete and accurate, and all GL attributes have been correctly captured in entries performed by your team and others
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable and FP&A teams to resolve matters pertaining to GL coding discrepancies
• Maintain and enhance current process to improve day to day and month end processes while maintaining all required controls and documentation.

$72,000 - $80,000 a year

At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The Canada base salary range for this position is $72,000 - $80,000 + bonus + benefits, non-overtime eligible. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
