Job summary

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is seeking a Gasfitter—Class A to join our industrial team in Jansen, SK for the BHP Wet Mill project. The role focuses on gas fitting tasks within a multi-discipline construction environment.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining gas systems, reading drawings, and mentoring apprentices. Camp lodging is provided; strong safety practices and English fluency are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial Journeyperson Certification or enrollment in a provincial apprenticeship.
• CSTS-20 Certificate required.
• Fall Protection Certificate required.
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform Certificate (MEWP) required.
• Class A Certification required.
• Experience as a Gasfitter in an industrial construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.

• Test and replace defective equipment.
• Measure, cut, thread and assemble pipe using pipe tools.
• Attend gas-escape calls and assist in gas fire investigations.
• Prepare work reports.

• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

ACSI is seeking experienced Gasfitter – Class A to join our industrial team to support project requirements.

• Installing, repairing and maintaining gas meters, regulators, gas lines and gas appliances.
• Testing and replacing defective equipment.
• Measure, cut, thread and assemble pipe using tools such as pipe cutters, pipe threading machines and pipe vices.
• Attending to gas-escape calls and assisting in the investigation of gas fires and explosions.
• Preparing work reports.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements And Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Certification or indentured into a provincial apprenticeship program
• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Fall Protection Certificate
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform Certificate
• Class A Certification
• Experience as a Gasfitter in an industrial construction environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Project: BHP Wet Mill

Location: Jansen, SK

Rate: $51.00 per hour

Overtime: After 8 hours/ day or 40 hours/ week

Schedule: 14x7 (days/nights), 11 hours per shift

Camp: Yes

Allowances: Transportation allowance ranging from $02,000km provided based on approved proof of residency documented submitted
